Trent Bennett’s USS Sternbach

This is my build of the U.S.S. Sternbach.

I originally was going to build this as the U.S.S. Voyager but a friend thought is hould name it something else. So I thought what better way than to name the ship after the original designer. I was able to get Rick Sternbach’s permission to use his last name and birthday as the registry number. He was honored by this request and it is one of my favorite builds.

As you can see I used the U.S.S. Voyager model for this build. If I remember right I sprayed it Light See Grey. I used JT Graphic decals for the custom name and registry number. I added the missing ribbed details on Deck 2 and in front of the mess hall windows using styrene rods. I also added the missing formation lights using small LEDs. I also used Paragraphix photo-etched set for better details including the missing escape pod hatches near the spine.

This definitely was a very fun build for me. I am also honored Rick Sternbach allowed me to use the custom name and registry number for this build.
