Paul Hicks’ Classic Enterprise

I found the Polar Lights 1/350 Enterprise to be the finest kit I ever built. It was a pleasure! I did not light it, even though it could easily be lit with an inexpensive string of Christmas lights (if you don’t mind the engine fan blades not turning).

I painted it with Tamiya AS-5 Light Luftwaffe Blue, which under studio lights especially looks like the ship often did on TV, back in the day. I used reflective tape on some of the windows to give them a “lit” look, which works well during flash photography. Weathering was done with black, green and red oil paints applied carefully with a stiff brush, the excess wiped away.

I’m quite proud of how the ship turned out, as inexpensively as possible.
