Dennis Hogan’s Superman
Here is a Polar Lights plastic model kit of Superman. A fun kit to put together, although, I would not recommend it for younger modelers or those that are just starting out with model kits. The kit is loaded with gaps and seems through out the body and the cape. You can see the putty work that is required to get a solid look to this particular figure kit. And, although it is labeled as a “snap together kit”, it really won’t stay together unless you apply modelers glue.
As far as paint goes, I went with different shades of basic blue and red and tried to give it the old Comic Book look. Finally, as I get to painting the chains he is “busting” out of, I went with simply painting them flat black and then dry brushing steel. The instructions said that they were “kryptonite” chains and should be painted green. Now, if you are a Superman fan like I have been for many years now, you know he can’t break free of kryptonite chains. So, I just went with the look of steel. Making it look more like just another simple task for Superman!
