Trent Bennett’s USS Excelsior NX-2000

This is my Round 2 U.S.S. Excelsior build.  This build is more or less straight out of the box.

I used Krylon gloss White spray paint for the main color. I used Euro Gray for the neck, base for the pylons and aft torpedo launcher. I used aluminum for the silver areas. For the blue on the engines, deflector dish and impulse crystal I used cobalt blue.   I used Shapeway’s accurate bridge, impulse crystal and dekoids for this build.

I used Round 2’s aztec decals for this set. I used the brighter blue ones for this particular build. Although the only two decals that gave me issues and could not be salvaged were the ones on the side of the impulse deck. So I had no choice but to use the darker blue ones for those areas.

There were additional decals that came with the Aztec set, especially the white ones you see on the stand. There’s one for the NCC Excelsior as well as another variation of the arrowhead. I figured it would be a fun idea to put those on the stand to make it unique.
