Steven Vasko’s 2001 Space Pod

This is the Wilco! Models resin kit of the Space Pod, in 1/32 scale. This kit is pretty much built “out of the box”, except for my having to switch over the space-suit backpacks of the Poole and Bowman figures included in the kit. The decals that came with the kit were pretty hard to work with to, as they had a tendency to break apart as one applied them to the model. The explosive bolts notice on the kit’s base was first a screen capture printed off the web in small size and then trimmed out and spray-mounted onto a cut piece of sheet styrene. Decoupage two-part epoxy varnish was applied on top to improve the appearance of the tiny plaque and to protect the print underneath.
