Skot Garrick’s Invisible Man

The Invisible Man front view

This is my build of the Moebius Models Invisible Man kit. I bought the kit when first released, and completed it about 4-5 years ago. This was my first Moebius kit and by far one of the most fun kits I have ever built. The sense of narrative and the endless possibilities for individual variation in placement added so much to the enjoyment. I love traditional English style clothing & fabrics, & so I wanted to see if I could duplicate the very old-school English style of a houndstooth overcoat.

Throughout the build there was always the lingering question: when I got to the coat could I pull it off? I experimented with self-printed decals, & the first challenge was finding a pattern and printing to the correct scale. Then I went through several different types of spray adhesive, ruining several sheets before finding the right product. With some doing, I manage to print and cut the houndstooth pattern to conform with the body of the coat, and applied in sections. As you can imagine, the arms were very tricky. I am also proud of the interior jacket. My first coat was a dark navy, & then built up shades of chocolate and tan brown for a very rich a deep finish. Hats off & many thanks to the Moebius designers & sculptors for this incredible kit.
