Scott Copeland’s Alien
This is an old MPC “Alien” model I recently completed. It’s pretty much built out of the box, the base is the lid from a peanut butter jar primered & painted. Alien paint job was done with many shades of Vallejo Model Air Acrylics & Metallics paints lightly built-up with the airbrush, the striping inside the clear dome was done with Tamiya “Smoke” and gave a nice depth effect to the airbrushed highlights on the skull. Still a fun kit to build, and since it’s cheap and readily available you can feel free to experiment and have fun painting without the stress that comes with more rare & expensive garage kits. With some careful puttying and a good paint job, it’s a more accurate replica of the iconic “Big Chap” than a lot of kits that cost a lot more.
