Matt Wesley’s SD Viper

Just for fun, my wife got me the Super Deformed Colonial Viper from Moebius for Christmas… A fun kit to build, it goes together just fine. Take care of the tail fin, its a bit of work to snap it on. I did the assembly and painting is stages. I found it easier to paint the engine section separate from the forward nose section. Also paint the canopy separate and the nose cone as well. They just snap on.

Now the only trouble I had was with the decals, they are very thin and tear very easy. So I ended up leaving a few off… I had to paint on the right wing stripes and gave up on the nose strip all together. You do get a set of peel and stick markings, they fit ok. The best part is the left over scrap stickers give you a great template to draw your own tape masks if needed. Which I did need in the end

I finished with spray can white and touched up the exhaust with Testors magnesium a series of ComArt clear blacks and yellows

Well worth the time…
