Joey Nash’s Revell Germany USS Potemkin

This model is one half of the “50th Anniversary Set” by Revell Germany. Although the model has several inaccuracies, it’s smartly engineered for lighting & is actually fun to build! For the main hull color, I used Rustoleum Winter Gray gloss with the darker hull elements were Rustoleum Charcoal Gray. After applying the supplied decals (I opted for the USS Potemkin), I applied Rustoleum Matte Clear. (These photos are before the matte.)

I also used two micro gear reduction motors (60rpm@9v) to turn the Bussard Collector rotors in the nacelles. A single 555 timer IC controls the navigational lights on the saucer.
