Christopher Olson’s Jupiter 2

I used 236 various sized SMD LEDs and 3mm LEDs in my build. 1000 ft of fiber optics, a 5″ round EL panel to light the interior when the top saucer is on, 2x 3v motors for the translator and center radar screen, 2 Adafruit Trinkets (arduinos) to control the blinking rate of LEDs, the pulsating of the wall beam lights, and the alarm light flashing. An Adafruit sound board mini for sound effects when the alarm is activated and for buttons to control various other sound effects. I have a 10k pot in the base to control the speed at which the wall beam lighting can pulsate. The wall beams were built from scratch with styrene sheets, and lit from the back end with 4mm ultra mini LED strips of 9 LEDs each, then controlled by the Trinkets for pulsating. Pod room and lower deck stairwell built from scratch with styrene and copper tubing for the stairs. I also made the inner hatch windows and the main saucer tri-windows from clear styrene sheets, as the kit clear plastic pieces tend to cause warping and distortion when looking through them. And I did use the 3rd party photo etch parts which are available, for the freezer tubes, speaker grills, door controls, elevator floor, communication console and main consoles.
