Bryan Hughes’ Luke Skywalker with light saber
I got the idea for the model from this website from another contributor. I put the model together per the instructions and played around with the paint a little to get a shine from the light sabers. I used small fluorescent bulbs in green for Luke Skywalker and red for Darth Vader. I ran wires thru the body parts as I assembled the model and painted everything and tested the lights to insure there were not problems. I drilled small holes in the light sabers and slid the wires from the light in and made them snug to look like part of the sabers themselves. Ran the wires out the bottom of the feet and into the base. Looked great when I was done. Could not believe how well this worked out. They fit like a glove.
I mounted them to a base I made and did all the wiring underneath the base, including the power inverter to power the small lights. It runs on a 12volt system. I put Luke and Darth Vader on the base to reenact the scene from Return of the Jedi.
This whole thing took a few weeks to complete but has been well worth the effort. This is the jewel of my Star Wars collection and I did it myself.
