Andy Mihail’s Shelley Class

Here’s the completed pics of my Shelley Class ship, the USS Jermaine Ellis. The paint job is fairly standard. I used 3M blue tape to mask off the light blue areas on the sides of the impulse engines. I also tried a new idea to get a sparkle on the nacelles. Painting the inside of the grills, I misted several layers, starting with white, then light blue & dark blue. Over those I then sprayed transparent blue. The effect is very pleasing! Custom JT Graphics were used to make the name, as well as the pennants & windows. The name of the ship comes from a 12 year-old boy who dreamed of being an astronaut, but was killed in a drive-by shooting in Providence, RI.
