Tony Hardy’s Aurora Superman
This is the Monogram re-pop of the old 1960s Aurora kit. The head is an aftermarket replacement piece that looks just like actor George Reeves who played Superman on TV in the 1950s.
Needless to say, this kit has a lot of part fit problems. It required a great deal of puttying & sanding. So much so, that I thought I’d never get the thing completed.
I spent a great deal of time attempting to get the bricks & mortar painted realistically, plus getting the suit to look like the cloth suit that George Reeves wore. All in all I think it turned out pretty well.
The Aurora Superman kit was the first model I built as a child. It was fun to return to it 44 years later and finally do it justice.
