Some touch-up was needed around the clear parts but at last she was done. I have to say, this was a real adventure. The kit turned out pretty cool, too. The kit looks great with or without the lights on.

Someone said it would make a great weekend project. It took me quite a bit longer than that. But it was worth it. Besides, some of that extra time was due to my own mistakes and sloppiness.

Looking back, it would have saved me LOTS of time if I had researched LEDs before jumping in. It also seems that it would be better to use “real” components right off the bat. So, if you are planning a project involving lighting, spend the extra time and money and get good components and a good working knowledge of their operation. Just like when I was a kid, I was able to get things working as I had set out to, despite my errors.

And what a great addition it is to my collection of anime spaceships. Since the American manufacturers have cut way back on their scifi offerings, anime spaceships may find their way to your shelves! I hope you have as much fun with them as I do!!
