Star Trek Mission Chicago photos
CultTVman’s Hobbyshop attended Star Trek Mission Chicago along with Round 2 this past April 8-10, 2022. It was an unusual show for me, as most events we attend are hobby shows. This was an official Star Trek convention, sponsored by CBS.

Round 2 invited be to share space with them at the event, to promote and sell the line of Star Trek kits. We had a wide selection of Round 2’s Trek kits, along with build ups of the 1:1000 scale Enterprise from Discovery, the USS Voyager, and the Galileo Shuttle. Jamie Hood from Round 2 was with me at the show. Many of the people at the show had never built models. Some had built kits when they were younger and were looking to get back to the hobby. And a few folks were regular customers. It was fun to meet everyone and chat.
There were no announcements from Round 2 at the show, but Jamie was discussion many kits that are under consideration. Jamie has discussed many of these in the past, and repeated many of them again in his YouTube video. Under consideration are a 1:1000 Enterprise D, a 1:350 Reliant, a Stargazer (thanks to the recent appearance in Picard). A repackaged Enterprise from Strange New Worlds is likely. The new ships from Prodigy and Lower Decks were mentioned by a lot of people. So there is no shortage of subjects. But please remember, nothing has been officially announced.

Round 2 produced this special promotional poster to give away at the event with the purchase of $100 in Trek kits. The artwork featured Kirk and Pike along with images of the pilot Enterprises. This generated a lot of buzz at the show. We’ll be bringing the remaining posters to Wonderfest in June and offering the same deal. The poster is free with the purchase of $100 worth of Round 2 Star Trek kits. This is a special promotion, for the people that are going to the shows and making these events a success. Other companies do these promotions at events like San Diego Comic Con, or the big Las Vegas Trek show.

If you have been watching Picard, you will recongnize these skulls. These were on display at the Mission Chicago event.

Strange New Worlds was getting a lot of promotion at the event. They had props like the phaser and communicator on display, along costumes and production art. I’ve posted some of the really exciting art from the display below.

I’ll post new photos of the Enterprise in a separate post
