Sneak Peak: Romulan Bird of Prey from Round 2

Here’s another sneak peak of an upcoming kit from Polar Lights/Round 2.   The Romulan Bird of Prey has always been a fan favorite, despite that it only appeared in two episodes of the original series.   There have been a couple other versions of the kit from AMT, but they were generally based on inaccurate references.   This new kit is 1:1000 scale, which is about 5 inches from front to back.  That makes it roughly 400 feet long at 1:1000 scale.

Here’s the box

Here’s the main hull of the ship.  It features raised texture on the top hull “ports” (or are they sensors?)

Two other sprues make up the nacelles and tail fin.

Here are the clear domes for the nacelles.  They are pretty small.

The instructions

The kit has a nice looking decal sheet.  No stickers!

And the base is the standard Round 2 dome, with a wire insert to support the model

This should look good along side the other 1:1000 kits from Polar Lights/Round 2.   I expect this will arrive in the next month or so.     We are still taking preorders in the CultTVman Hobbyshop.  Thanks to the good people at Round 2 for providing this sample.
