Sean Ferrin’s Classic AMT Enterprise
“Classic 18” AMT Enterprise that hopefully deleted MOST of the typical 18” AMT problems. I removed the heavy molded grid lines from the upper saucer section. I removed the Bridge A & B decks and replaced them with Don Light & Magic’s accurate replacement part. I replaced the lower saucer sensor dish, the main sensor saucer as well as the 6 flux chillers with federation Models Accurate Parts components. I also added all light beacons as well as the shuttle bay main beacon. I also added the secondary hull sensor “channels” and details that you see on the 22” Cutaway kit (took a bit of work). I tried my hand, for the first time, at airbrushing, I tried to give the warp nacelles a little life, they look better than being painted just solid red but I need a real airbrush…and some experience/practice. After assembly, puttying and priming I painted the ship with Testors Flat Dark Aircraft Grey, I resprayed the ship with Testors Clear Gloss Lacquer for decal application and masked off the areas I wanted to remain Flat. I added the saucer grid decals from Acreation Models as well as the JTGraphics Constitution Class Windows & Markings Decals. I then resprayed a few finish coats of the Clear to seal everything up. I built in a solid support into the bottom of the secondary hull for the models stand, worked out well. Thank you to Dons Light & Magic, Federation Models, Accurate Parts, Acreation Models, JTGraphics and most of all CultTVman (where I bought almost all of the materials, and got my inspiration from).
