Round 2 had a lot of news to share this year at Wonderfest with several all new kits announced, as well as updates on previous announcements and reissues. Jamie Hood also hosted a Q & A session on Saturday and hosted a podcast on Sunday.

Please note that all this information is preliminary and subject to change. No release dates or prices have been set. Production and shipping schedules are extremely dynamic these days.

New Announcements

Gerrry Anderson’s UFO models. This generated the most interest at the show. Round 2 has added the UFO series to their Gerry Anderson Space:1999 license. Nothing specific was announced, but the first kits they are considering are Interceptor and Shadowmobile, with others to follow. Scale has not been set, but 1:48 scale is under consideration. Watch the CultTVman site for more details. These are not expected until 2023.

Under consideration at Round 2

The following kits have been openly discussed and some are under consideration. Others are not. None of them have been officially announced and so anything in this section should be considered speculation. Keep in mind that there are limits to what can be produced in any given year and that has to be divided among the major licenses (Star Trek, Star Wars, Gerry Anderson, etc).

USS Reliant – 1:350 – something Round 2 would love to do, but they don’t feel they have the references to do it right. They do not have access to the studio model and no one has been able to provide the references they need. All parts of this ship are different from the Refit Enterprise.
USS Enterprise from Strange New Worlds 1:500 scale – this would be a similar size to the 350 Refit and TOS. Under serious consideration. With a light kit.
USS Cerritos from Lower Decks – R2 gets a lot of support for this ship.
USS Thunderchild/Akira – not under serious consideration at this time, Since they announced that kit, 10 years ago, other subjects have more interest and priority.
Strange New Worlds Galileo Shuttle – would love to do this.
Enterprise NX-01 1:350 reissue – lots of requests, but they feel the current kit has problems and they receive a lot of complaints.
USS Stargazer – new version or old one?
USS Enterprise-D 1:1000 scale is under consideration. This would be about 2 feet long.

Star Wars X-Wing – 1:32 scale – likely the second of the Studio Series kits
Star Wars Y-Wing – 1:32 scale – another possible kit for the future.
Star Wars Blockade Runner – frequently requested and something they would like to do.
Star Wars Medical Freighter – do they do a Medical Freighter or Blockade Runner?
Sebulba’s Pod Racer – do they do that or a
Sandcrawler? both are requested
TIE Bomber – another frequently suggested kit
Star Wars Tyderium – original molds do not exist anymore. Something they will consider with other popular Star Wars subjects.
AT-AT – larger scale. Another suggestion for the future.

The Batman Batmobile in 1/25 scale – they have a license, but not currently planned

Black Hole Cygnus and other franchises – Disney licensing is complex with different parts of the company handling different franchises. Plus, R2 is already committed to several franchises and only so much they can do

As always, we’ll provide updates and information as it becomes available here at the CultTVman website and Hobby Shop.
