Round 2 news for April 2015

There have not been any new announcements from Round 2 of late, but a little information has leaked through hobby distributors.   Nothing official has been announced by Round 2 at this time, so please consider all this information to be preliminary and tentative.

The 1989 Keaton Batmobile – listed as a July release, but no price is set.   AMT-935 is the catalog number.   The photo above is just the original kit packaging.   Look for Round 2 to produce something nice like what they did with the Piranha kit.

The USS Excelsior – listed as a December release.   Round 2 had previously stated that they did not have complete tooling for this kit.  Apparently the molds were reworked into the Enterprise B by Ertl when Star Trek Generations was released.  The photo above is the original kit box.   In the past, Round 2 expressed interest in retooling the missing parts.   No pricing at this time.   Catalog number is AMT-843

eagle1Finally, there is a new Space 1999 Eagle on the list, as well as an Eagle Accessory kit.    This is scheduled for November 2015 with a retail price around $120.    Catalog number for the kit is MPC-825.   The Accessory kit is listed as 1:48 scale, so presumably, the kit is 1:48 scale.  No further information is available, but Round 2 has hinted they would consider a larger, accurate Eagle.

Also listed are a couple of RESIN figure kits.

And a couple Polar Lights kits that seem to be reissues.

  • USS Enterprise Snap kit – POL 936
  • Klingon D7 Snap kit – POL 937

And this Batman kit

  • Batman TV Batcycle 1:16 scale – POL 939 – Is this a reissue of the Polar Lights/Aurora kit?

And this…

  • Headless Horseman 1:8 scale – POL 941 – Is this a reissue of the Polar Lights Sleepy Hollow kit?

I expect we’ll hear more at Wonderfest at the end of May.  As of right now, no further information is available.  Nothing official has been announced by Round 2.    No photos, no prototypes, no box art have been released.
