Robert Todaro’s Defiant

AMT designed this model to be a snap together, I used glue and filling the gaps was no snap of a job. It was a real challenge getting everything to line up and then to fill the spaces sand them smooth. I used some aftermarket accurate parts and fabricated some myself. I added plastic sheets to the lip of the engines front and rear and then rounded them to match the Studio model.

The Impulse engines were recessed and the three tabs on each were added along with clear plastic for lighting. I printed my own decals including a small one for the top of the bridge. For some reason they had a half circular indent on the top of the bridge that I did not think belonged there so it was filled and the decal went over it.

There is plenty of airbrushing and lots of colors on this model. I highlighted the seems on the body panel with a thin blue line. LEDs and 12V bulbs are used for lighting and fiber-optics light all the navigation beacons.
