Rick Rayl’s Negh’Var
Thought you might want this – my version of the Negh’Var or Voodieh class Klingon ship. It’s a Macro Trek kit, with weapons pods from the Skyhook version. The arms on the top of the models wings were scratchbuilt out of resin and styrene to match the studio model.
“I looked long and hard at the studio model and the Skyhook Miniatures version, and decided to modify my existing model rather than buy a new one completely. The wing tips need to be canted downwards slightly, so I cut off the last 1.2 inch of wing and beveled the edge so the tip would angle downward about 15-20 degrees. Then I beveled the warp engines to give this model the correct inward-angled warp engines as well. The final photo is a little out of focus, but it shows the engine and wing angles well. This is an easy modification to do if you own the Macro Trek version already – all you need is a hobby saw or a band saw if you can use one, and a file to bevel the edges. Just remember to bevel the right edge – I almost had a model with one wing pointed down and one wing pointed up!”
