On The Bench 112a: Kirk Schermerhorn’s Models
Our friend Kirk Schermerhorn starts things off with a few of his projects…
Here are a few teasers from three Wonderfest 2001 projects I am working on. (less than 300 days you know!)
The first picture is of my Skyhook Planet Express Kit. I intend to show my true insanity by attempting to light a resin kit. The second photo is of the rocket nossle section that I have hollowed out and drilled out already. Not a bad start, eh?
My next project is a lighted resin Borg Cube.(a much easier undertaking!). The third photo shows one of the sides that I have cut out random sections of to allow the lighting to shine through.
A while back I submitted a photo of a Romulan Warbird kit bash I was working on. The concept is for a fast attack cruiser that shares many design features with the warbird, but is much smaller, about the same general size as a Klingon BOP. I call the design the Harrier Fast Attack Cruiser. The forth photo is a resubmission of the original concept shot. The fifth photo shows some of the progress to date. I have trimmed down the front section of the warbird model and started work on the pylon for the third warp nacelle.
