Gino Dykstra’s TIE Fighters

Recently I completed a couple of Fine Molds TIE fighters for a customer of mine, and it got me re-evaluating my old MPC models, Although the Fine Molds kits were excellent, they were in 1/72nd scale and a bit small. At least the MPC kits were larger, and certainly workable. Using the information I gleaned from the Fine Molds builds, I decided to do both a TIE fighter and interceptor, using parts from the snap-fit kit coupled with the better TIE Fighter combo to show the differences between the two makes. The TIE fighter was built essentially out of box. The interceptor mated the TIE fighter central cockpit with the wings from the snap-fit model, requiring a certain amount of carving and adjusting to get them to fit properly.

All in all, a satisfying build with very little difficulty.
