CultTVman at Galacticon – Final Update

Yes, I’ll be at Galacticon, along with Moebius Models.   Hoping on the plane in the morning and looking forward to meeting up with everyone that is still going.

If you haven’t been following the Galacticon drama on Facebook, you’ve missed quite a circus.  Early in the afternoon on Tuesday, word began to creep out that almost all of the New Galactica guests had either been canceled by the convention or had pulled out.   Unfortunately that included Edward James Olmos, Grace Park, Richard Hatch and many others.   Essentially, what had been billed as “Galacticon” quickly turned into anything but a Galactica convention.   By the end of the night, the guy running the show had resigned and turned it over to a Galactica fan club.

Needless to say there are a lot of people upset.   This is quite understandable.

Since that point, many of the volunteers have been working to salvage the show.  This afternoon, Richard Hatch announced he was going to attend the show after all.

Other guests are still confirmed to attend including the Lost In Space cast – Bill Mumy, Marta Kristen, Angela Cartwright and Mark Goddard.    Claudia Christian from Babylon 5 will be there.   Eric Chu, a designer on BG will be attending.  Jewel Staite from Firefly is also scheduled to attend.

Moebius Models will be at the show, with a good selection of their Galactica product.   I will be helping at the booth and will have some Bandai Star Wars kits, Sci-Fi & Fantasy Modeller magazines, Paragrafix photoetch and Ron Gross’s Lost In Space 50th Anniversary print.

It should be an interesting weekend at the very least!
