Carlos Zangrando’s Galactica models
The Battlestar Galactica is that awfull Monogram model, extensively reworked and detailed, for a period of over 4 months… The sides were cut of, and new ones made with styrene sheet. Then, lots and lots of Tamiya 1/700 battleship pieces, photoetched parts and everything else from my spares box was used to detail it. The model has lights inside. Yes, I know that many details do not look exactely like the original filming model, but I can only say that I could never reproduce even the smallest original kit part. I just wanted my model to look “right”…. The model has internal lights.
The Colonial Viper is also the Monogram Kit, with reescribed lines, and MMI Cockpit detail and pilot, and lights.
The Scarlet Viper was based at the idea described at the Battlestar Galactica Fan Club site, and was made using my original Colonial Viper, built in 1986. This time I didn’t used any aftermarket parts, only a MMI seated Pilot figure. It was dismantled and the I reescribed the panel lines, cut off the wings and stabilizer, and put some sci-fi weapons from a toy I bought a few years ago. I created the Viper logo and borrowed the sharkmouth from a 1/48 P-40E decal sheet (I simply LOVE sharkmouths at aircrafts and spaceships).
The Monogram Cylon Basestar has lights.
The Cylon Raider was heavily modified, with all panel lines reescribed, a new open cockpit cover, reworked front detail and lots of minor details. It is also lighted
