Carl Campagna’s Supercar
This is an “flying view” of Mike Mercury’s Supercar. This is another kit from Comet Miniatures. This kit is comprised of resin and white metal. The body of Supercar is a solid resin cast. Though the details were very well defined on the body there was much trimming and sanding to be done. Most of the effort was with the sanding. The stabilizers, retro rockets headlights and those yellow things on the side of Supercar were all white metal. The canopy was vacuformed plastic. Aside from all the trimming and sanding was applying those little yellow things behind the retro rockets, this consisted of 10 little fingernail like pieces of white metal with a top and bottom strip of white metal to finish it. According to Comet Miniatures they have re-worked this part of the kit and supply these parts as a unit, where was it when I could have really used it. This picture is of the completed kit without the center engine in place, the model is mounted on a makeshift stand here that I used for painting and decaling
