New Pilot

Update December 2001: It appears this project is on hold. After the 9-11 attack, much of the entertainment industry shut down the projects they had in development, including Formerly Famous

The pilot of the new show from the producers of Sherman Oaks was taped at the end of September.   The program is now called  "Formerly Famous" and, focuses on a family of producers in the business of "reality TV".

This satirical series will see the return of Sherman Oaks veterans Phyllis  Katz, Tyler Bearde, and Nick Toth, as well as a group of talented new faces.  .Phyllis plays a female producer and Nick plays a network executive.  Tyler plays a "dorky" executive assistant. Look  for Heather Elizabeth-Parkhurst to make an appearance as well.

The show is created by the man behind Sherman Oaks, Chris Bearde, and written by former Sherman Oaks writer Jayne  Hamil.   Hamil also wrote and produced Fran Drescher's series, The Nanny, for three years.   The project is backed by Vin Di Bona's production company and will be distributed both  domestically and internationally.

The original working title for this pilot was "The Decline and Fall of Integrity."
