Korea

Mark Snyder sent these photos from early in the tour!

Here's the Mystery Machine parked on a wall at a Korean Buddhist temple under some prayer lanterns.  The lanters are "rented" by people who attach their names and a wish for the coming year, and are then hung for a time in the temple grounds until they are eventually taken down and used again by someone else.

Mystery Machine on a low wall opposite a gate leading to a private part of the temple.

Parked on the back of my car.  You can see my old US Military (SOFA) license plate.  The 3- indicates it was registered in Seoul.

Another shot with the prayer lanterns...

The Mystery Machine cruises the top of a wall with the colorfully painted eaves of a temple roof in the background.

Me and the Mystery Machine standing with a cannon used in the 1870's by Korean soldiers who were attempting to repel a US military expedition to "open up" the country.
