After the Monster Scenes, Comic Scenes, and Prehistoric Scenes, Aurora planned to produce a series of Science Fiction
Scenes.
These models were to include the Time Machine, the War of the Worlds space ship, Gort from The Day The Earth Stood Still, and Robby the Robot. The figure seen here is the Metaluna Mutant from This Island Earth.
In 1974, Aurora produced artwork as part of their product development. It was not known that the kits reached the prototype stage until this prototype appeared with several others on Ebay
in August 2001. These prototypes seen on this page come from the collection of Jim Makowski. Jim obtainted them from a toy designer who was part of Aurora at the time of the shut down.
