This kit I finished is from Federation models kit. It is an all resin kit. I did not paint it the traditional
"klingon" color from the intsruction sheet. I wanted to paint it like the Neghvars in the ST Armada II PC game. They are shades of green and faded red. So I made my own Klingon green mix.
Since the ship is just one giant resin block,
I wanted to make the nacelles appear glass like and since the model is not lighted, I wanted to make the nacelles look like they are lit. A paint cocktail of water and oil based paints (red,yellow,light yellow) created the effect. The glass like nacelles were made by applying finishing poxy resin unto the dry paint. This came out with the illusion I wanted.
