Some of you may not have noticed, but I pulled the plug on the CultTVman2 domain tonight. CultTVman2 was launched 4 years ago in Sept 2006 when I was looking for a new database driven platform to host the CultTVman content. I opted to use DotNetNuke as the platform as it was a popular open source system with lots of versatility. It was certainly a lot more powerful than the html based platform I had been using and a lot easier to update. It was pretty snazzy for its time.
What I discovered after two years is that the software was very complex and difficult to upgrade. I’m not a software engineer and when something needed upgrading I was in over my head. At one time, I tried to make a minor change and promptly crashed the whole site. Then when the time came to upgrade the software, I had to shell out some big bucks and hold my breath to see if it worked. It did, but the next time around for an upgrade, I was told it may not be possible. You can’t run a website under those conditions.
In January I started the migration to WordPress, and all the content from CultTVman2 has been moved over to this platform. There is still a lot of archived material that I will repost in the future. You don’t just post 14 years of material overnight!
And now, back to models…

FWIW, I think you’re doing a great job!
