Jim Apitz Dragster Batmobile

This model depicts the Barris built no. 4 replica car as it looked circa 2001. The dragster Batmobile was created by George Barris as a response to the high demand for tv Batmobile public appearances. As the name implies, the dragster Batmobile performed exhibition drag races at tracks across the country. The 1:1 car and my model of it have many distinct details that differentiate it from the one seen in the tv show. A completely different interior, a larger afterburner, white lettered tires, and all orange door bats are just some of the more obvious differences. To date, this is the only model of this particular car known to exist.
