Jim Apitz' Batman Adventures Batmobile

This is the Batmobile from the re-styled animated series, known to most as "The New Adventures". I tried to stay true to Paul Dini's description of the car. He called it a "stealth Batmobile" because it's flat black, very sleek and shows no visible headlights.

To replicate the look of the New Adventures version, I painted my 1/25 scale model a semi-flat black, with metallic gray wheel rims. I took some artistic license with some of the details, such as the roofline, which I radiused a bit, and the omission of the conical indentations on each side that intersect the rear wheelwells. Also, some episodes clearly showed an afterburner on the car, while others showed none. I chose to include one, but painted it body color as a compromise.

This model represents my second completely scratchbuilt Batmobile. I've learned from this experience and plan to put those lessons to good use on my next scratchbild - the Batman Beyond Batmobile.
