BuildEnterprise

Gino Dykstra's USS Sullivans

This is the USS The Sullivans, named after the famous brothers from my home state, Iowa.  I used Thomas Model's PT Destroyer  conversion with a little fiddling here and there.  The decals are, again, mine.  The only glitch that I noticed (and it may well have been my fault) was that the front torpedo tubes on the torpedo pod barely clear the bridge.  If this ship ever fires a full arc, the bridge crew are going to have a spectacular light show!  I've built two of these conversions, though (one for Thomas Models)  and the same problem seemed prevalent on both.  If doing it again, I'd shim some plastic in under the pod to raise it a quarter of an inch or so.  Otherwise, it is doubtless one of the finest conversion kits I've ever had the pleasure to build!
