This is a couple of variants on the Revell 1/48 Gemini Capsule. The first item is based on a SF movie made in the 60's,
with James Caan attempting to rescue some stranded cosmonauts on the surface of the moon. What made the movie interesting was the use of credible technology from the period -- the mating of a
Gemini capsule with the lower end of an Apollo LEM.
I tried to stay as close to the concept as possible, including the winch in the second seting position. The capsule
itself was updated past prototype stage with some scratchbuilt bits and pieces, which I then cast in resin. Real Space Models now apparently offers a similar set of conversion parts -- sure wish
I'd had them then!

The other model is a very early offering for an orbitting space station proposed by the U.S. Air Force from a
picture I found in an old National Geographic.
The rear stage was made from a stage off the Airfix 1/144 Saturn V rocket, with appropriate portholes and entrance section.
I left the Gemini capsule itself pretty much in original prototype format, as the plans seemed to be from a time when the Gemini itself was a speculative vehicle.
