Gino Dykstra's Apollo Astronaut

Here are some picturess I took of the Revell Apollo Astronaut, posed in front of the model box. The kit is more-or-less out of box with the exception of the gold foil covering the leg and the replacement of the cables for the life support system, which I replaced with heavy solder.  This is a fairly fragile model, with the landing gear leg having quite a mind of its own. I was tempted to paint out the visor and perhaps do a variant of the terrific "moonscape" painting offered by another of your contributors, but felt that the face inside the suit would lend it a more human aspect, despite its inaccuracy.
