Frank P. DeCandia's 24" Robby

These are extremely rare.. I had to SCOUR the net to find someone who had one to sell, and not just have it on the web page. To my knowledge  there are at least 1,000 of them. I've seen different tags indicating one of 400, or one of 600. I've also seen blank tags indicating an unknown production run. Maybe 500?

As you can see he's large and in charge.  He's 50% bigger than the 16" Robby, and about 128% larger than the Lunar Robby.

In the head shots you will notice black grill lines in the forehead. It adds a nice sense of dimension. To my knowledge I'm the only Robby owner with this unique feature. And all three of them now have it. (But I'm sure once the photos are on the web others will follow.) I spent most of a  weekend, and several week nights to finish him. It's a labor  of love.

It's difficult to notice but the chest shot should reveal hands that are rubbery looking, and glossy black buttons beneath the dials. It's the subtle detail that brings out the realism. Remember, the Lunar Robby has 4 types of black, two types of white, etc. Again I followed the rule of not always using the colors suggested in the instructions. Notice the nice orange and yellow glow of the "lights".

In reality, Robby has a black face but I'm fond of the silver look. I'm considering doing one of my original 1985 Robby's with a black face. Then again, I've considered goldleaf for the 50th anniversary in 2006. Send me your feedback and tell me what you think I should do. Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures.
