Dennis Severson's Apollo Recovery

Here is a quickie that the Real Space modelers might find interesting.  After finishing the Revell 1/96 Saturn V with the Real Space Block II accurizing kit, I was left with the extra parts I used to make a recovery scene. I used the lunar surface base as the ocean surface, covered with a layer of acrylic modeling gel to create the  "waves", then a coat of seafoam green acrylic, and a final coat of clear gel "water". The capsule was drybrushed to create burn marks, the flotation collar and balloons made of oven baked sculpey clay, and a Revell H-3 Sea King helicopter painted to match NASA photos was mounted above.
