Bruce Bishop's Robby
bbrobbyt

Since 'everyone' is excited about the upcoming Robbie the Robot from Polar Lights I thought I would share a picture of the Comet Miniatures  vac-formed version.  He stands 12 inches tall when completed.    I ordered it from England several years ago and built him up.  If I had more experience when I built him I would have filled him with plaster to weight the body, since the hands are lead and really make him top-heavy!

The kit was a little difficult to assemble, being a vac-form, but it went together well even  so.  The only 'nightmare' part I encountered was in trying to hide the seams where the top and bottom chest pieces went together, and the two halfs which made his hips.  It was a bit more work than I wanted to do, so they can still be seen on mine.  To me they are not bad (with more work I could have made it appear 'seamless'), and I really enjoyed the kit.
