CultTVMan  Presents On The Bench

What's on your workbench? Show us!

Yet another installment of On The Bench comes your way with this collection of new projects.  We begin with a couple Star Trek models. We begin with this project from Steve Andersen

Here's a couple of pics of a runabout model I'm working on.  The hull has been stretched about 10 inches and the warp engines were moved outboard 3.5 inches. I also switched the pylons port/starboard so the straight edge is aft (to give her a more dynamic look).

Here's some pics of the finished model.

From Richard Deakins comes a glimpse of another Trek kit. See Richard's other models.

Here is the Enterprise D.  I said I would give it an overhaul and I did. She still isn't read but will be soon.

Finally we look at this project from Henry Prentiss from the movie Alien.

A small model (only about 8" in length), but easily built, easily lit with one of those 10 'rice-light' sets from the local AC Moore that power from two AA batteries. Lot's of room inside as it is hollow, and not much to paint, with only a few decals.

Finished Halcyon Narcissus from the movie Alien

Chomped out holes in each 'engine' for threading small light through.

Frosted inside window (no included interior, did not feel like trying to do anything with it -- it's a small model!)

Black paint on inside of nose cone to prevent light 'bleed'.

Where to stuff all that wire???

Zip strips - what would we do without them?

Light it up!

Cut out dashboard lights, used some decals left over from a J2 decal set, stuffed in a few lights ...

Final wire / battery assembly. Total of 10 lights in all, powered by 2 "AA" batteries.

Put on the decals on the outside.

Lit and finished model!  I was too lazy to paint the struts on the canopy ... I ran out of time with it!
