Andrew Harrell's Y Wing

Which came first, Y-wing or the Egg?

This project started with two plastic Easter eggs. I cut them down to be the domes and steering assemblies. All other materials were Evergreen sheet styrene, tubes, and halfrounds. I also uned some T-bar from Plastruct and two short pieces of 1 1/4 PVC pipe. Final piping was done with some 20 ga. electrical wire.
Painting consisted of a basecoat of Testor's Camo Grey, with Dark Ghost Grey and some yellow Detail. Weathering was drybrushed flat black.
The pilot is an X-wing pilot from an MPC/ERTL X-wing kit,
and the R5 astromech was scratch built.

Total cost was about $15.00 and the build time was about 10 hours. The finished model is about 16" long
