Alan Sinclair's Robby Car Diagrams

Here is the Altaira (a little creative license), which was inspired by the Polar Lights Robby the Robot and the D-57 Cruiser. The one item I felt missing was Robby's wheels.  Even though there is very little data available on this subject I decided to take a shot at it anyway. A big help was when a friend found the Robot Hut web page

This gentleman built a full scale work replica of "Robby's Jeep" from the original studio blueprints. So with the pictures on his page and a publicity shot of Ann Francis and Robby on the car I started laying out the basic structure. The only dimensions I had were from the Robby kit, the kit established the scale at 1/11th, I eyeballed the rest.  I have included a scale in both English and Metric for those so inclined.

I have included a layout sheet for the grillwork.  I plan to use a build-up jig to get the grillwork right; a sandwich of wood spacers and the grill pieces.  Another project to add to the never-ending list.

I have tried a different technique in converting from the CAD format to JPG, it hopefully creates a cleaner drawing. If anyone decides to build one please let me know I would very much like to see the results. Also if anyone would like these or any of my work in DWG or DWF let me know and I'll send them out to you.
